The District 168 Board of Education amended their meeting dates for the remainder of the 2007-2008 school year beginning in March 2008. Study Sessions will be held on the 2nd Thursday of each month, and Finance and Regular Board Meetings will now be held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at the District Administration Building/Boardroom 21899 S. Torrence Ave., Sauk Village, IL 60411. The revised dates are posted on the District’s website and also at the District Administration Building. Also, beginning in July 2008, the Board of Education will conduct only one meeting per month.

The After School Programs have been posted on our website in the Parents Section. Click here to check them out.
The Wagoner Turnaround project has been completed. School busses will now be able to enter school property from the east side of the building. This project will eliminate the need for school busses to line up in front of the school building, and will lessen the traffic congestion at Wagoner School.
Because of the additional after school programs that have been added, another school bus will be available for after school program bus riders at Strassburg.
In an effort to foster greater communication and collaboration between the school district and parents, an after school program in the Strassburg computer lab has been established to help any district student with homework, reading, and/or math . Parents will be offered free training on Microsoft 2003, Internet Research. Program hours are 2:15-3:15 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The District initiated an all-day Kindergarten this school year, the program has been very successful thanks to the School Administrators and teaching staff.
Rickover initiated a new program “Strive for Success” which has a component that includes a cheerleading squad for the Boy’s basketball team.
At the July 18th regular meeting of the Board of Education the Board approved the purchase of new textbooks for Rickover, Strassburg, and Wagoner School. These books are now in the schools and being used to further the education of our students.
