Welcome Director of Early Childhood

Meet the Director of Early Childhood

Blossoms/Wagoner Early Childhood Center welcomes Tricia Walton as Director of Early Childhood, beginning in the 2017-2018 school year.   Mrs. Walton is coming to Community Consolidated School District #168 with 20+ years of experience in the field of education and during that time, has held the positions of K, 1st, 5th, 7th, and 8th grade teacher, mentor teacher, virtual instructional coach, conference presenter, and administrator.

Mrs. Walton earned her master’s degree in School Leadership with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Xavier University.  She also holds a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Governors State University and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Chicago State University.  Mrs. Walton is a strong proponent of early childhood education and believes whole heartedly in the development of the whole child.  She recognizes the value in involving all stakeholders and is an advocate for building strong relationships within the learning community.

“I truly believe it takes an entire village to raise a child.  Children need to know and see that we have their best interest at heart.  I once read a quote that stated, “We can’t have their minds, until we have their hearts.”  There is so much embedded in this quote and I feel we owe it to our children to make sure they are learning in safe, collaborative environments where they feel loved and free to take risks as they learn.”- Mrs. Walton

Please join us on August 17th at 9 am and noon for parent orientation and to meet Mrs. Walton.
