Our School History

Strassburg School has about 560 students in 3rd through 5th grade. There are 30 regular classrooms, 40 teachers and 12 support staff members who work here. Our school is named Strassburg to honor the original settlers who came to this area in the 1840's from Strassburg, Germany. This area was also called Strassburg before Sauk Village was incorporated in 1957. Strassburg School was built in 1960 and in the past, students from Kindergarten thorugh 8th grade attended the school. As Sauk Village grew, two other schools were built - Wagoner Elementary and Rickover Junior High. The three schools now comprise District 168.
