Cinco de Mayo Celebrations

Wagoner School was very busy on May 5th. Classrooms completed a variety of teacher directed activies. The office sponsored the Cinco de Mayo Poetry Contest & Cinco de Mayo Trivia contest.

We hope you enjoy the winning poems:

2nd Grade: Mrs. Baugh's Class

Cinco de Mayo is our style.

The parade is longer than a mile.

Spanish is what we talk.

We shake our maracas when we walk.

We Cha-Cha when we dance.

We won the battle against France.

Tacos are the best.

We’d rather eat one than the rest.

The Mariachi Band plays under the sun.

Then we listen to music as we have fun.

1st Grade: Mrs. Steffel's Class

Cinco de Mayo is a day

That Mexican people celebrate and play.

Pinatas, sombreros, and maracas too

Are just examples to name a few.

Uno, dos, tres,

Cuatro, cinco, seis.

Azul, verde rojo,

Amarillo, anaranjado, morado.

Speaking Sanish is fun to do

On Cinco de Mayo, yahoo!!

1st Grade: Ms. Parson's Class

The 5th of May is a special day.

It gives us all a chance to say

Hooray for Mexico!

Hooray. Hooray!

We finished up our Cinco de Mayo celebrations thanks to the "Cinco de Mayo" dancers from our own Rickover Junior High School. Since they were busy on May 5th we got to enjoy their dancing on May 22nd.
