It is a privilege to be serving the stakeholders of Sauk Village as Superintendent of Schools for Community Consolidated Schools District 168. As we embark on this new leg of our journey, you will see transformation across the board in our district. The goals for the superintendent's office revolve around six specific areas: student performance, technology, budget, professional development, community relations and board/superintendent relations. With this in mind, we are updating our curriculum as we prepare for the new state assessment, the PARCC. Our assessment systems will be used to progress monitor our children to insure they are growing from year to year – and ultimately exceeding their own targeted growth. Our classrooms will transform as we bring in more technology to enhance, enrich and expand their learning. We are developing One and Five Year Plans in all areas to assist with streamlining and planning for efficiency in our budget. We are moving toward a new evaluation model for our teachers rooted in researched based best practices. Our teachers will be participating in professional learning opportunities connected to these best practices as well as our new C.H.A.M.P.S. classroom management program to assist with a consistent connection to our core values for all children. My office will be establishing a series of Advisory Councils to provide valuable input in how we inform, consult, involve and collaborate with our district stakeholders.I look forward to working with our students, parents, staff and community as we continue to extend the legacy of "Every Child Every Day"!
