Winter NWEA MAP testing begins Jan. 14. Please be here every day you are scheduled for testing. Your participation is important! You doing your best on the test - helps us - help you!
Reading will be first! Did you know the MAP test is an adjusting test? The better you do, the harder the questions will be. The test is pushing you to do the best you can. We want to see what you know!


Tryouts for 8th grade Girls' Volleyball are Jan. 8 & 9. You must have a signed permission slip to stay for the tryouts. Permission slips go home Jan 7.


In celebration of Black History Month, do you have a unique talent that deserves to be showcased? Whether you shine in singing, performing magic tricks, or hula hooping, we want to see your skills! You might choose to deliver a famous speech, like one from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., recite poetry by Gwendolyn Brooks, or perform a dance inspired by Beyoncé's "All The Single Ladies." Alternatively, you can showcase your originality through acts like lip-syncing, telling jokes, or putting together a drumline with your friends. The RJHS Talent Show is the perfect stage for you to shine!
To reserve your spot, you must audition. Auditions will take place on January 21st and 23rd. For more details, please visit the RJHS Google Classroom and use the provided link to sign up for your audition. Start brainstorming and practicing your act so you can impress us during your audition. Prepare to dazzle us with your performance – we can’t wait to see what makes you special!

One of Rickover Junior High School's 8th graders received a heartwarming surprise from his older brother, who serves in the military. After landing, his brother came straight to our campus to surprise him. Even their parents didn’t know he was home!

This year's Shop With A Cop Day was a great success. Thank you to Sauk Village Police department for their ongoing support of D168 students! Dr. Kimbrough presented the Sauk Village Police Department with a plaque for their continuous support of the program. Thank you for all that you do and for making the holidays for some Rickover students a little brighter. Thank you!

Friday is the end of 2nd quarter. It's also the last school day before the Winter Break. We hope you enjoy the Winter Break and we'll see you back in the New Year!
Students return to school on Monday, January 6th.

Invitations & permission slips to the Northwester University Women's Basketball game have been distributed. The permission slips must be completed and returned in order for the student to attend the Field trip. Bring the signed permission slip if you want to go on the trip!!!


Oh Baby it's cold outside! But Raiders stay warm with donated coats! Thank you to Ms. Wolford, Ms. Coleman, Ms. Dunwoody, Ms. Scott, and Mrs. Reillo for your assistance in passing them out. If there is a need of a warm winter coat and you did not receive one, please see Ms. Coleman in the office. Stay warm Raiders!




Don't forget! Friday, December 13th is a half-day. Teachers are working on School-Improvement. Early dismissal!


8th graders - Pictures for you are Wednesday, December 11th. Be prepared that they are going to take 2 pictures: one with a mortar hat (graduation hat) and one without. Arrange your hair suitably for both pictures.
