Rickover JHS celebrates the achievements, histories, traditions, diversity, and vibrant culture of Hispanic and Latino Americans during Hispanic Heritage Month.


RJHS counselors Mrs. Reillo and Ms. Drew organized a Positive Message Post-it Event! Students had the chance to write a positive message on a post-it in their homeroom, which are displayed on the Library Hallway windows as a heart. Thank you to the counselors for organizing the event and to all the students the participated. Thanks for showing you care!

Positive strategies to resolve conflicts
6th graders had an assembly of all teachers and students to talk about conflict resolution. Then small groups of students had an opportunity to talk about what they heard with counselors. They worked with their classmates to brainstorm ways to talk out their problems peacefully.

The graduation day on May 17, 2024, was bittersweet for students, parents, and staff. It was a poignant moment as we celebrated the accomplishments of the students, but also bid farewell to a chapter in our lives. There were tears of joy and sadness as we said goodbye to friends and mentors, but we also felt excited for the future. It was a day filled with mixed emotions and unforgettable memories.



The Class of 2024 had an epic staff vs. student game for the 8th-grade class, and the students, coached by Ms. Bickerstaff, emerged victorious with a score of 40-18. Better luck next year, staff!


The Class of 2024 8th grade picnic was an absolute blast! With a carnival theme, there were games, prizes, and delicious food that made the day unforgettable. It was so much fun to see everyone enjoying themselves and making memories together.


As the school year comes to a close, Dr. Kimbrough made sure to create lasting memories with her students on their 8th-grade boat trip. Laughter filled the air as they cruised along the water, enjoying the beautiful scenery and each other's company. It was a bittersweet moment, but one that Dr. Kimbrough and her students will cherish forever. Here's to new beginnings and wonderful memories!
